I have been fascinated by ancient history since I was a child. My first passion was ancient Egypt, after I saw the 1932 film, The Mummy. As an adult, I became interested in pre-Columbian Mexico. I travelled to Mexico and central America, to visit the Mayan pyramids and temples there. The statues, heiroglyphs and historical events behind the architecture inspired me to write my novel Smoke Macaw and Lady Rainbow.
After living and working in various countries, I settled in Munich, Germany. I have two teenage children.
