Roger Flury and Warwick Braithwaite

Passionate about music libraries, Roger Flury has worked for 45 years in the profession, starting at Westminster City Libraries (London) in 1969 and retiring as Curator, Music at the Alexander Turnbull Library (Wellington) in 2014. For much of his career he has been closely associated with the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML), serving as Secretary General, President and Historian. He is the author of award-wining books on Mascagni and Puccini, co-editor of a volume of songs by Arturo Toscanini, co-founder of Academy Opera, writer and presenter of over 100 programmes for Radio New Zealand, and a contributor to music journals internationally. Since his retirement and return to England, he has given talks for Opera Holland Park, the Recorded Vocal Arts Society and the New Zealand Studies Network, and is currently collaborating with David Vine on the publication of some of Braithwaite's compositions.
