Autobiography
‘Morgan the Travel’ is an autobiographical travel memoir tracing over 50 years of globetrotting, much of the time as a Tour Manager escorting groups of adventurous souls around the world. The anecdotes related reflect the myriad of adventures, cultures and colourful people who have crossed Ron’s path and enriched his knowledge and life.
This is also a story of the wonderful influence his family plays on this journey, of the parents, partners, children, Grandchildren and the friends who shared many of Ron’s escapades. It reflects the highs and lows of life and the importance of never giving in.
It helps us understand that we learn every day and it is the journey not the destination which educates us, makes us wiser and ultimately comforts and sustains us.
As to accept we are always learning allows us to have an open heart and mind and to be a more contented person always prepared to listen!
More than anything Morgan the Travel strives to give us hope that we can triumph over adversity whilst having the desire to leave a positive legacy and make the world a better place! Remember every day we all have a choice. Better times will come!
Here's what readers have to say about this book....
Amazing story of living with cancer and pure determination to live a normal life along the journey, inspired me to keep hope!
Having had so many planned holidays cancelled due to covid, I was looking for some inspiration to start me planning holidays again. This book looked interesting and I thought it might just help me when I feel safe to travel again. It is not just a travel journal it follows you through Ronald's interesting life of how he got into the travel industry and how it developed. It is sort of two books in one where we follow his cancer and personal life to also following all his tours around the world with some interesting and funny anecdotes. Ronald's out look on life is inspirational and anyone going through cancer would find excellent words of help and encouragement. In fact I have recommended this book to a friend suffering breast cancer. I loved his journey through Tibet and Bhutan, maybe that is where I should travel to next. It is easy to get completely engrossed with this book and I can highly recommend it.
Morgan the Travel, otherwise known as Ronald Dennis Morgan, is a wonderful teller of tales, who takes us on a memorable "magic carpet ride" of places, people and events, in his book of global adventures and escapades. His joy of writing fills every page, and his joie de vivre is truly infectious. An absolute must for every bookshelf.
Ron shares his personal back-catalogue of incredible journeys to far-flung places and through life itself. Descriptive, evocative, and always authentic he has a knack of taking you with him whether soaking up the smells and sounds of his beloved Indian subcontinent, or navigating his way through the more sobering challenges of his health. Loves shines through Ron's love for travel, adventure, and family and of course his love for his soulmate Dianne. He makes no excuses, seeks no pity, and dishes out no blame he takes the rough with the smooth and seems happy to accept whatever life throws at him, as long as it writes a good story and he has certainly done that! I took this book on holiday, and simply couldn't put it down. A cracking read!
A fantastic and informative read, I've really enjoyed it. Some of the stories brought back great memories of my own travels to those places, and others have inspired me to want to visit all these new destinations, and reminded me of my own love for travel.
