The Golden Anklet

It's a brilliant story with twists and turns all the way through. It kept me guessing what was going to happen next and I read over 200 pages a day, as I couldn't put it down. A very well thought out plot, which kept the mystery going right to the end. A very enjoyable read.

4 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this book. I found the style of the author's writing quite old fashioned and it initially came across as stilted, however I soon became quite used to it and found it didn't affect the flow of the story. I initially struggled to work out what time period the book was based in and it seemed from the description of Jane's clothes and shoes to be 80's/early 90's however I then realised from the descriptions of the family background programmes, laptops and emails that it was based in a more modern time period. I think the author may have got confused about the time period the story was based in at times during the story. Putting that aside I though the story flowed well giving a good description of Jane's blossoming relationship and her discovers about her family background. I have to say I could see the ending coming but it was still enjoyable. I would recommend this book.
