Sci-Fi
Natalia comes from a past full of darkness and a horrific childhood spent in the Siberian taiga. Her Monsters are real, and they hide in every corner of her memory. Her state of mind, fragility and child-like innocence make both humans and aliens question her sanity.
In reality, Natalia is an inspiring young woman who owns her past and fears. Her determination shapes her new alien planet's future, defeats a Sphinx and tames the scariest Monster of all. She may be afraid of her own shadow, but she is not scared to fight for love, even when it comes in the shape of her worst nightmare: a Monster.
Natalia owns her many weaknesses until they become her strengths. She fights darkness with light and unconditional love. As it turns out, those are the only weapons able to win the fight. Natalia’s dark past taught her the most important lesson of all: One is most likely to find their angels when running from Monsters.
The Queen of Monsters is the second book in The Tarrassian Saga. It features the inspiring story of one of the five Humans taken from Earth by alien slavers. The five books in the series are individual stories and do not end in cliffhangers. However, the stories are best enjoyed when read in order. The Tarrassian Saga is aimed at a mature audience.
Here's what readers have to say about this book....
This book was really good for sure 18+ as it has erotic scenes. I loved the character building and the uniqueness of the story! Natalia is a really great character and I love the build and suspense of the love triangle between characters that wanted each other and didn't want each other. The back and forth always makes for such a good story when it comes to romance. Including the Sphinx who you really fall in love with and feel for. I love fantasy and it always makes for better erotic stories! I love the twists and turns and things that pop up that you never expect now im ready for the next! First I want to thank the publisher, Author and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review! I really loved this book! Most times I am quick to put a book down if I feel it is too angtsy or the female character somehow seems too needy or whiny or just overall childish. This was not Natalia! I really loved the love triangle and how the opposites wanted one another while the other didn't. The story building was really great and I am excited to read future books in the series opening up to future characters! I am never one to ruin anyone reading a book, so what I say is limited so that you of course can enjoy it all yourself! I also read the first in the series which helped me learn the Author's writing style which I loved and made this book that much more interesting!!
This is a very good book, it such a refreshing sight amongst the fantasy books. Mixing Greek mythology with the character of the Sphinx will definitely provide a lot of interest amongst young adults. The character Natalia breaks through so many stereotypes and does not fit into any of these categories: hero/saviour/princess. She is strong character mentally, yet it is not something she is aware of, she is just a woman who understands herself. Aside from the unique characters this book has darker themes throughout to explore which you can see will develop in the whole series. You can see how the author has pulled experiences and examples from reality into her writing and despite the setting as different alien worlds, it feels scarily similar to the world around us. I am excited and terrified to see what she writes next. The scenery and descriptions are so vivid and I could not stop thinking of Natalia's pink dress, the author successfully uses colours to compliment each character and the different alien species. The cover really helps bring the picture all together and the artist actually worked on The Game of Thrones TV show! The erotic scenes definitely earn the 18+ recommendation but it's such a shame because I feel this book would be a great target to teens and young adults. A few years ago 0where all I read was fantasy and romance novels) this book would have been my dream. Original review: https://www.netgalley.co.uk/book/239898/review/898140
