The Self-Publishing Conference is the UK’s longest-established dedicated self-publishing event, offering authors a chance to find out about a wide range of publishing options, to hear from and question those who work within the thriving self-publishing world, and to network with fellow authors, many of whom will already be experienced self-publishers.
Having just completed its ninth year, the conference is supported and sponsored by many familiar names, including Writers’ & Artists’, Nielsen, the Historical Novel Society, The Book Guild and Indie-go.co.uk. The event attracts experienced professionals from the worlds of editing, marketing, production, design and distribution. At the 2023 conference we welcomed speakers from, among others, The Independent Publishers Guild (IPG), Nielsen, The Literary Consultancy and The British Library, among others.
The informal event aims to educate, inform and inspire authors who are publishing their own work, or who are considering that as a route to publication. The day attracts a wide variety of authors, from fiction to children’s, non-fiction to business, and the day is structured so that delegates can choose those sessions throughout the day that are of the most relevance to them.
Previous years have seen overwhelmingly positive feedback for the event, and it tends to sell out quickly. In 2024, the cost of attending will be £95.00. Full details of the conference speakers and sessions can be found on this website, along with a registration form. In addition, we have made many resources from previous years’ events available in our resource centre.
The purpose of this session is to help attendees decide the publishing route that is best for them depending on their objectives.
